Been A While

I know it has been a few weeks since I have had time to update this blog, but here we are with another weigh in completed.

The last time I weighed in I was at a standstill, I think it was because I ended up spending most of my time working and not really having any time to go to the gym.  Inventory does that to a schedule.  But now I have a few weeks before the craziness comes back. 

This week the total lost is now at 11.7 lbs.  It feels good, not really where I would like to be but I am getting somewhere (slowly).

I will get to updating this on either a daily basis with what I did each day or every other day.  I should most likely do this daily until I get into a groove of some sort.

Weigh In Day

So yesterday was weigh in day and and a week and a half of dieting and (sometimes) going to the gym seems to have paid off.  I have lost 8.5 lbs.  I feel good.  I am that much closer to my 80 lbs I want to lose for my cruise.

I know I am not really good at updating this, I hope to have some fun things to post on here besides updates about my weigh ins and such.  But right now that just seems to be about all I really seem to think about posting on this blog, but you can check out my book review blog or even my own personal blog.

Since Starting

So since starting this diet, I have lost about 3 or 4 pounds.  Which is good.  It has been about 1 week and that is a really good pace on the loosing weight process.

I feel good about those few pounds and it makes me ready to take on the next 6 to 7 of the first 10 that i need to lose.  It has brought me into one of those I can do just about anything moods.  Though I did end up drinking SODA (I know the worst thing ever) during our overnight last night.  But I did not eat the burger and fries that everyone else was getting, instead I ate my frozen fruit and pudding cup (I felt like I was in the 1st grade with that).

Now I am in the mindset of taking off the weight, now that I have seen on the scales that it is slowly working.

Question Day?

I am debating on doing this, I have decided to hold a weekly question on my book blog, but I was thinking of something to keep the readers coming back each week here.  I know that your interest in my progress would be enough for some people but I am looking for something to get you involved in the blog as well.  I like the interaction with my readers, so if you post comments that is something that I like.

So I have decided to try it for a few weeks mayby 2 months to see what happens.

So here it is, the first question on getting to know your readers.

What do you like to listen to while working out?  Do you have a certain band that gets you interested, or just a style of music?

Personally for the past few days of going to the gym I have been into listening to A Harry Potter PodCast that I downloaded for free.  Since I am saving for a car, I do not want to pay for music and I am a stickler about illeagal downloading of music.  So I am listening to free podcast and enjoying it.

The Bandwagon

So the other day I was at work and our new LP used to work at a 24 hr fitness. She was nice enough to give me a good tip that I am going to try. 

It is not about losing weight, it is about getting healthy and staying healthy.

So that is what I am going to do, get healthy.  Cut out the fast food, greasy food and the cokes is the first thing on my to do list.

If anyone else has any tips on getting healthy leave comments, I love comments.


Another thing towards getting healthy is getting active.  I am going to be going to the gym to walk, to begin with, 3-5 times a week.  This is an important step, all the healthy eating will do me no good if I do not get some more activity in my life.  After a while, I will add other activities such as weights and maybe take a few classes they offer.

Something to help

So this past week, I have decided to start saving my money to purchase my first car of my own, I have had the standard passed down used cars and now I would like to have one of my own.  Something that I know that I took care of to get, I worked hard to pay for and everything. 

Then I realized this will go really well with my Cruise Slim down, since I want to cut out the junk food, the cokes and the fast food as much as possible.  And since my goal is buy a car and not have the money to buy those things is a good thing. 

Today after work, I was really hungry but as I was passing all those fast food places such as Taco Bell, Wendy and McDonalds the only thing I was thinking was that any money I went in there to spend would be longer til I could make a good down payment on my car.  So, I skipped the meal came on home and read a few chapters of my book, though I may be hungry, I was not hungry enough to spend $5 or more that could go to my car.


So thank you goal of wanting to buy my own car from keeping me from getting that greasy burrito or french fries that a small part of me really wanted.  Also, thank you car from keeping me from going through McDonalds and buying a $1 coke to wake me up a little.  To take care of the need to drink at work and to keep me from getting a coke in a bottle I am going to have to bring out the "bubba keg" that my family is so fond of drinking out of.  This will be good for keeping water cool to drink anytime I would like some.

Today was the END

Well tomorrow my brother has his jaw broken and put back together so starts our big diet.  Since he will not beable to eat some (all) of the things we eat, we are going to be going on our huge diet. 

But he got to choose his last meal for the next 2 to 6 weeks and he chose to eat at Red Lobster.

Now this was good, I got to have shrimp which was really good.  I ate too much but it was a good ending to some of my favorite thing I have to give up to lose all this weight before the cruise.

Now this was not just any shrimp meal, no this was the Endless Shrimp.

I ended up eating
2 Parmesan Shrimp
1 Shrimp Scampi
1 Shrimp Alfredo with Pasta

My baked Potato and Salad that come with the meal and like 5 of the cheesy biscuits that they serve.
